1. Can I access my policy documents online?
If you bought a policy after 18th January 2015, you’ll have had the option to access your documents through the Policy Portal. You can log in and view your documents here.
It’s not too late to change your mind, so if you didn’t choose this or you can’t find your registration email please call us on 0345 607 7293 and we’ll help you set this up.
If you joined us before this date you can’t currently view your documents online, but we’re working on it.
2. What is the First Alternative Policy Portal?
It’s a secure online place where you can view, check and download your documents.
3. Can I change my Policy Portal username/email address?
Yes you can, just call us on 0345 607 7293 and we’ll update your details.
4. Can I change my Policy Portal password?
Yes, you can do this by logging in to the Policy Portal and going to the ‘Your Account’ section.

5. How do I change my Policy Portal security question/answer?
You can do this by logging in to the Policy Portal and going to the ‘Your Account’ section.

6. I’ve forgotten my Policy Portal log in details, what should I do?
Go to the Policy Portal log in page and click the forgotten details links.

7. How do I register my Policy Portal account?
If you bought a policy after 18th January 2015, and chose to access your documents online, you’ll have received a registration email with a unique link to register your Policy Portal account.
If you didn’t choose this or you can’t find your registration email please call us on 0345 607 7293 and we’ll help you set this up.
If you joined us before this date you can’t currently register for the Policy Portal, but we’re working on it.
8. How do I log in to my Policy Portal account?
You can click the ‘Log in’ link on the First Alternative homepage, or click here.
9. My Policy Portal account has been locked, how do I unlock it?
For security we lock your account for 15 minutes if a number of unsuccessful log in attempts are made.
If you’re still having trouble logging in after this, please call us on 0345 607 7293.
10. I’ve logged into the Policy Portal but I can’t see my policy documents, how do I access them?
It can take around 3 minutes for your documents to appear online.
If for any reason you’re still having trouble viewing them after 24 hours, please call us on 0345 607 7293.
11. Can I renew my policy through the Policy Portal?
Unfortunately, you can’t currently renew your First Alternative policy online.
We’re working on it for the future, but for now please call us on 0345 607 0417.

12. Can I make a change to my policy through the Policy Portal?
Unfortunately, you can’t currently make changes to your First Alternative policy online.
We’re working on it for the future, but for now please call us on 0345 607 0417 if you need to make a change.

13. Can I use a different email address for the Policy Portal?
Yes, if you need to use a different email address, please call us on 0345 607 7293 and we’ll set this up for you.
